All is not lost, Rosicky coming good

We played very well for a half against PSV and dominated them created a few decent chances and then failed to turn up for the second half in what was a poor second half display. Nothing more nothing less.

The match is now a 50-50 one off game opposed to being in our favour which it would have been had we not lost.

As I said before PSV would have settled for 0-0 before the game. They were visibly scared in the first half and lacked any belief.

The game changed when they scored a good goal with one of their only real chances on the break. It gave them something to hold onto and they defending bravely and well and we looked jaded and lacking in ideas.

Conceding first against the run of play is becoming an all too familiar occurence over the season. However it cannot keep happening.

Danny Landzaat, Kieron Dyer, Matthew Taylor and Mendes, who worked very hard throughout, cannot score wonder goals every week. Gomes will not put in a display like that every week.

We are heading in the right direction and although I am disappointed I would not make too much of this result. The second leg is still to come and we still have a good chance to qualify against a team who couldn't believe their luck.

One real positive to take out of the game was the performance of Tomas Rosicky who went very very close to opening the scoring on 2 occassions. He really is improving all the time and showing the form which made him an £18m player a few seasons ago.

He is tenacious like Fabregas and Hleb and has a good understanding with Henry (who is carrying a knock which may explain his poor display). Rosicky can be a combination of Pires and Ljungberg and make the difference from the wide areas and help us get back to that fluid 4-4-2 we based our success on.

I really like his attitude and direct nature of play and I think he can become a big player for us now that the season is reaching the business end.

Against Bolton you could see the movement off the ball of the whole team and could sense that we were on the brink of coming back to our best.

I am convinced Rosicky will play on Sunday and he will shine.

people keep going on about PSV's negative tactics - that is just plain disrespectful - they are a good team and it wasn't that we didn't show up for the 2nd half - they outplayed us... we ended up going sideways or backwards and looked clueless

Henry is starting to disappoint me - he doesn't seem to run anymore... if you look back to last season he is just a shadow of that player... he is a categorically our best ever player but i worry about him... i don't think he leads by example and expels too much energy complaining... i think everyone gets a bit nervy around him and his overbearing hugging of Theo isn't helping settle the youngster - it's just drawing unnecessary attention to him losing his bottle

come back last season's Henry - a more selfish striker who didn't wait for the ball to come to him

The goal conceded is similar to the one scored by Wigan.AW/Arsenal must get used to this type of tactics even in the pl.I don't read abt othe pl managers complaining when faced by such neagative play.
It is naive to to expect other teams to allow Arsenal time and space and and sooner the moaning stops the better.
All is not lost but the defence need to be 110% focused like when they played MU. In that game Scholes was allowed to shoot but there were a few defenders who combined to block it. More of the same pls.

Fuck its been a while, awesome site boni my son. I have been busy doing not alot!

I would say when thi season has henry not been carrying a knock. He seems fine everyimte we score to do a random togo-an jig with a random togo-an player. I for one think hes lost fitness and sharpness and to be honest whenever i see us play without him we look a better unit and team. He is undoubted class but had we sold him in the summer for 50m we would not have missed him.

If you look at the amount of creativity we get from midfield and from the likes of playing adebayor upfront -lets face it hes not a goalscorer but very good feet and passer, with all that anyone with a decent passing game and attackign awareness will play well like jeremire or julio - although he has looked well off the pace and cant seem to control the ball for toffee.

The opening 30 minutes v bolton was prob some of hte bets iv eever seen us play, and that was wit hthe beast playing like utter shite. So thierrys failings cant be an excuse for us, we lost to PSV because for all the hard work and attackign incentive arsenal failed to create any real panic or danger withing the psv defensive ranks. I cant recall a cross from a byeline or a ball lofted into the box with 2 or 3 arsenal players in the middle.

Arsene has great confidence in this side and barring that wonderstrike i imagine he would of hoped for a 1-0 away victory. That said in these ties and playing away from home in the 1st leg an away goal i feel is crucial, and without it i think we are in real trouble.

That said at home we can dominate once more butu will be succeptible to an away goal. I think we will qualify but we need to show a bit more when dominating possession, home or away, when attacking or else we wont win this champions league.

For more clarity to the reasoning, you only need to remember the final last year, henry had two chances in the opening moments and also with baout 25 left on the clock. The failure for the attackers to hassle and harry is one which should e picked up on, cheslea do it better than anyone else, forcing the opponents defence to act will get possession back for your team alot easier and will stop the opponents from dictating the pace of the game. In that final and at psv we didnt and thierrys knock was always to blame, if you cant put in the effort then dont play. adebayor is also the master of being monsiouer nochalant, and when he gets the wind to go and prey o nthe defenders and closes down it works to brillaitn effects

more hassle, more harry, more drive, and more innovative wing play, the full backs needed to get involved more too.

heres to the second leg, if we get knocked out you will never hear from me again!

salut

si
