No luck Arsenal nowhere near clinical enough, Walcott the long term solution?

I have had a shit day. I lost out on a big job at work and like Arsenal lately, things have just not quite fallen for me.

We played well in the first half against PSV, outplayed Chelsea with a team of kids and last night we outplayed Blackburn for the second FA Cup tie running and for the 4th game this season and yet somehow find ourselves with only the Champions League to play for.

Not a bad consolation I might add but one which is in the balance along with the rest of our season.

Last night we tried hard and created the better chances, Ljungberg had a cast iron penalty turned down (by Graham Poll who is a showpony twat and along with that other high horse riding c*nt Alan Green I would like to put them in some stocks and throw hydrochrloric acid over them) which was our second one of the tie overall.

Wenger had a tactical nightmare and switched Senderos to right back, which was presumably because Gallas was marshalling the back 4 so well. However Phil is not mobile enough to play as a full back and got turned too easily. 9 times out of 10 it doesn't matter as the shot goes wide or gets blocked but as I say Arsenal just are not having the luck at the moment.

There is definately not a crisis and as Goodplaya points out, we have got the best squad we have had in the last 2 or 3 years and so when we get a good run in terms of injuries we will become more consistent.

But we do need an out an out striker. We might not need to buy one but the team needs one to function properly.

The bottom line is we created enough chances and couoldn't finish them off. For once I am in agreement with Myles Palmer. We need a striker, we seem to play all of the football and can't put the ball in the net. Henry hasn't been anywhere near as consistent as his previous 7 seasons (he is not to blame I might add) and we need a clinical goalscorer.

Robin Van Persie? Possibly.
Is it Adebayor? Not yet I don't think so.
Is it Baptista or Aliadiere? No.

Is it Theo Walcott? Now, probably not. But in 2 years time, he could well be.

I was hoping nobody would get me started on that little twat Alan Green but now you have. If I could have got my hands on him yesterday, I would have cheerfully strangled the fuckwit.

On Radio Five Live, he decided to launch into a tyrade against Arsene Wenger based on a whole pack of lies. He claimed that it was outrageous for Wenger to criticize Hughes for playing defensively at The Emirates - "What does he expect" he said.

Well this is what Wenger said after that match:-

on a rare goalless draw...
"Well, it was not the wish at the start of the game but we were a bit flat today physically and lacked a spark. They were very defensive and made it very difficult and as long as we didn't score a goal of course it was hard. We needed patience and to play at a higher pace. In the last 20 minutes we felt that we could score at any times and the opportunities were there. I think we had two, three good chances. Friedel made two or three good saves and we had the penalty as well - I am convinced [it was] a 100 per cent penalty."

on another FA Cup replay...
"That means today it didn't go for us and Blackburn defended with a lot of heart, sometimes too much. But that's a little bit normal in a cup game. We have another game up there, it's not more difficult away from home. I'm confident we can qualify up there."

It doesn't sound to me like he is having a go at Blackburn and his only expectations are that his own team showed more spark. Inspite of that, Green went on to accuse Arsene of hypocrisy because we played a 0-0 draw against Man Utd in the cup final in 2005. I don't think anybody who knows anything about Wenger or English football would accuse him of setting a team up for a 0-0 draw. He played 4-5-1 to avoid being overrun in mid-field but he still expected the mid-field players to get forward to support Bergkamp in attack. It didn't work but that is not the same as setting out for a 0-0 draw. Would anyone pick Reyes in a team that is looking for a 0-0 outcome?

Green is a snivelling little twat who changes the facts to support his pre-conceived views.

Got that off my chest now.

Totally agree anon, just turn the radio off or throw it out the window..maybe Poll, riley or sunday's twat could be passing by at the time

I think in 18 months time when Walcott is reaching 19 he can have the physical power and confidence to play through the middle, I just wonder whether he is greedy enough?

That was the good thing about Anelka, he wasn't bothered by the 'big stars' around him and just wanted to play and score goals. Walcott could be good with Van Persie in the long term with Adebayor making a decent trio who are all still below 23.

Theo walcott is a naturla born goalscorer and not a right midfilder, give him a chance and he will produce a natural finish which would make marco van basten blush. When put in a strikers position he creates confuson and can tear defences apart. He alongside thierry or van persie could be sensational for arsenal. However hes 17 and i am sure will follow cesc fabregas into the weights room and will develop into an ingredient weve not had since the days or wrighty someone who jsut wants to score at all costs.

As for now you create your own luck, baptista im afraid doesnt seem to have any sort of real first touch and in the premiership you cant afford that especially if its consistenly as bad as his, hhis goal the other day v reading reflected it he was never incotnrl of that ball and got fortunate. However having someone named the beast in the side is something i implore so we will porbably keep him which is nice.

denilson is sensational, song has looked like a donkey for charlton and will be sold, my team proposed for the future which looks fairly amazing is as such

van persie

roscky denislon diaby fabregas wlct

cluchy toure gallas eboue

lehmann

i think he will play walcott here in big matches nad give hi mthe license to roam the hwole park as he did against chelse in the final allowing him to ghost in through the middle. my main concern would be the two fullbacks defensivly, robben absolutly annihilated eboue in both mathces the two have met. gallas is a little short for a central defender so a replacement for him and to play gallas out wide would be my one real target for arsene, remmeber he wanted davies fairly desperatley i believe but 10 mill for a div 1 player is ludicruous

also he may opt to play van persie o nthe left but i think i nmost mache he will be partnered with walcott which will make most defences stay on the team bus as their pace and quality will be immense

as for henry im sure he will start were van perise or walcotts place but as fo eing captain diaby will have that in the future and as for senderos please he constantly gets beaten by didier BUT then in the final the legs were weary and that cross and movement is too good, the cross should of been closed but denilson is 16 and so cna be excused for a poor pass, AND i think we have a world beating team

for this season al ltha tremains is a MASSIVE game one wednesday and i feel we could be in trouble as we concede at home and it is masisvely in the balance. but letsh ope for anther run like last year, it oculd be perfect

and also we have one last hope, the chelsea take the league i am supporting them all the way

Si
